For the second straight year, the Blanco High School girls cross country team punched a ticket to the Class 3A state championship meet after the Panthers captured top honors on Saturday at the Corpus Christi Regional.
Blanco accumulated 92 points with its top five runners to top the 24-team field. Runner-up Kingsfield Academy tallied 102 points.
“I am so proud of our girls and the effort they gave us,” coach Stuart Schultz said.
Voters in Blanco County will have slight variations on their ballots when they go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the county’s six precincts.
“Voting turnout has been fairly high (in the past), but I have no idea what turnout will be on Election Day,” Blanco County Clerk Laura Walla said.
The headliner on the ballot will be the presidential election.

During its October meeting, the Blanco City Council voted unanimously to deny a rezoning request by developer Jim Cook for property on Trainer Street.
Cook’s request for an R-2 designation on the seven-acre tract would have allowed him to build about 26 homes on 7,500-square-foot lots.
