Amanda McMillan of the Mason Rodeo Association presented a beautiful Tres Rios buckle to Kallie Criswell at the Round Up Rodeo performance. Kallie had the fastest time of all the Mason County contestants in the Round Up Jackpot on Friday. She and her horse, Pokie made a smoking run and also had the second fastest time of the entire jackpot!
Join us Saturday, July 9th, for a washer pitching tournament BENEFITTING THE MASON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT at the Community Building. Registration will begin after the parade (approximately 11:30). Sterling Sam Jordan was inducted into the U. S. Navy at the Navy Recruiting Station in San Antonio, Texas. His father, Ernest Max Jordan, had told him to get into anything but the infantry (Army World War I). Sterling volunteered for the Navy. He was sent by train to the Naval Training Center, San Diego, California on October 4, 1944 for his basic training.

The Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library is hosting a special book signing event for Judy Schoenfeld, author of Mason Country Schools: Drawings, Photos, Histories, and Stories. Judy will be at the library on Tuesday, July 19th from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Books may also be purchased in the Archives section of the library when open or during Round Up on July 9th in a booth on the courthouse lawn.
