Well, the time has finally arrived for the Old Yeller Day celebration which will be held this Saturday, September 24th from 10:00-1:00 on the Mason County Courthouse Lawn.

The Mason Punchers played a hard fought match against the Iraan Braves on Friday night, and, though they lost the game, it was a true match between two great teams.
Iraan would always be leading in the game, with Mason valiantly making plays to even up the score. Early in the first quarter, the Braves pushed down the field before finally scoring on a short 5-yard run.
Teens in the Driver’s Seat is an organization that promotes safe driving in high schools throughout America. Mason High School has won third place in TDS Drive Home the Message contest, which includes a $500 dollar prize. We are hoping to win second or even first place this coming year.
The Mason TDS members put in countless hours planning and presenting activities to involve the whole school.
In their third outing for the 2016 football season, the Mason Punchers chalked up their second victory of the year by defeating the Comfort Bobcats 34-14 at home in Puncher Stadium.
The Punchers kicked off to Comfort to start the game, but in the first of three turnovers in the game, the Bobcats handed off control of the ball to Mason.
On October 8th, 2016, Wine in the Hill Country Honoring Mark Witt will take place at Pontotoc Weingarten in Fredericksburg, Texas. The event will be from 3 to 5 p.m., and will include live music, food and a silent auction. 20 percent of wine sales from that day, along with all proceeds from the silent auction, will go towards the Cure PSP Foundation.

After a tough loss during their opening week to Goldthwaite, the Mason Punchers showed that they are growing and improving every day by welcoming the Johnson City Eagles to town and defeating them 33-14.
Though the storms in the area never got close enough to be a threat, the warm temperatures and high humidity did plague the Punchers all night.

On Sunday, August 7, the members of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Mason joyfully welcomed Pastor Alfred Krebs as their newly called minister. Pastor “Fred” (as he likes to be called) comes to St. Paul from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Austin, where he served for almost 20 years.
The Punchers began the 2016 season with an outing against long-time rival, the Goldthwaite Eagles. Storms threatened from a distance all evening; but, never caused any delays for the two old rivals.
The Punchers took the opening kickoff; but, only two plays in, a fumble was recovered by the Eagles and fun in 30 yards for the first score of the night.
