Honoring our Veterans - Sterling Jordan
Sterling Sam Jordan was inducted into the U. S. Navy at the Navy Recruiting Station in San Antonio, Texas. His father, Ernest Max Jordan, had told him to get into anything but the infantry (Army World War I). Sterling volunteered for the Navy. He was sent by train to the Naval Training Center, San Diego, California on October 4, 1944 for his basic training.
