During their meeting on Monday night, the Mason I.S.D. School Board took action to finish their search for a new superintendent to replace Pam Kruse who is retiring at the end of the school year.
The board has named John Schumacher as the lone finalist for the superintendent position of MISD.
The Mason High School UIL Academics Team won the 2A Region IV Championship on Saturday, April 23rd, in Corpus Christi. The achievement marks the first time in MHS history that the Academic team has won the whole regional tournament. In addition, by placing among the top three competitors in their events, 12 students advanced to compete in the UIL State Tournament that will be held in late May.

The score from Friday night's victory of the Mason Punchers over the Junction Eagles doesn't begin to tell the tale of what a hard-fought game it was.

The 29th Annual Mason County Republican Women's Home Tour will be held on Saturday April 18th, from 10 am to 5 pm. This fundraising event is held each year to provide scholarships to Mason County High school seniors attending college or technical school. Tickets will be sold at Market Square the week of the home tour and at each of the homes on the day of the tour.
