JOHNSON CITY, TEXAS – Due to the continuing threat of inclement weather forecasted for December 3, Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park will postpone “Christmas Through the Years in LBJ Country” until Saturday, December 10. Gather the family and come out to the park to celebrate this special holiday event in Johnson City, Texas.
The Johnson City Lady Eagles defeated a talented team from Medina last week to even their season record to 1-1. This was a great win for the girls and it was Coach Katy Taylor's first at Johnson City. Coach Taylor was very pleased with the ladies’ effort on offense and defense and how well they executed on both ends of the court.
Coach Lewis Jenkins opened the 2016-17 basketball season Monday night against a very talented Lake Travis Junior Varsity squad. The Cavaliers are a 6A Powerhouse in all sports including basketball. The Eagles return many of its players from last year’s playoff team and are looking at making another playoff run this season.

She was noticed by the NSHSS for her exceptional score on the US History STAAR Test. Her plans for after graduation is to go to San Antonio College to complete her core classes and transfer into University of Texas San Antonio to study criminology.
On the morning of Monday, November 21 construction crews arrived at the Crider Motel on Avenue F and began demolition. The demolition of the building has been met with mixed reviews some welcome the change while others lament the loss of a historical building. The Crider Motel is widely known for housing those on staff with President Lyndon B.

This week it happens again; a couple of hundred Johnson City residents and visitors come to the First United Methodist Church for a free community feast with neighbors, friends and folks they don’t know yet.
It’s all provided by the church and manned by volunteers, from the turkey cooks to the clean-up crew.
Turkeys are provided, along with the essentials: dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy.
