The Lady Eagles are off to a good start to the season with an 8-8 record going into the holidays. The Lady Eagles are led by the Capra sisters, with Annamarie averaging 9.9 points a game and Audrey averaging 10.2 points per game. Kayli Trahan is contributing 8.8 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game.
The Ladies competed well in the Johnson City Tournament finishing third.
If December's sales tax rebate numbers released by outgoing Texas Comptroller Susan Combs are any indication, there's plenty to celebrate this New Year where federal, state and even the local economy are concerned.
Combs said that state sales tax revenue in November was $2.66 billion, up 10.7 percent compared to November 2013.

This year marked the 30th year that Las Vegas hosted the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Cowboys and cowgirls from all over the US, Canada, Brazil and Australia compete all year in hopes of qualifying in the top 15 in the world to have a chance at 7.6 million dollars.
Blanco County residents have an opportunity to bid farewell to outgoing County Judge Bill Guthrie and Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Terry Carter on Dec. 22 at a reception slated for after the regular commissioners' court meeting.
After decades of service, both are retiring. Guthrie has been in public service for decades, first as a justice of the peace and then as county
judge.
Johnson City's annual Free Community Thanksgiving Potluck Feast lived up to its name again — feeding about 200 residents and visitors with food donated mostly by the diners themselves, and drawing out-of-town interest in the process.
The turkeys were donated by Harvest House Farms, and were prepared by volunteer cooks, including Harvest House itself, Ronnie's, and a genuine jailbird cooked in the county jail kitchen!

Enrollment remains a top concern for Johnson City ISD as the number of total students dropped from last year. At Monday’s school board meeting the campus principals also presented their improvement plans and addressed potential new discipline policies.

Current enrollment is 656 students. The district is down by 29 students from last year.
Johnson City faced off against county rival Blanco in a low scoring thriller Friday night. Blanco came out on top after four long quarters, final score Johnson City 14, Blanco 21.
“Hard fought contest by both teams. I am proud of the way the Eagles played” Said Coach Cloninger after the game.
The Eagles had a tough night moving the ball against Blanco’s defense, gaining a total of 101 yards rushing and 88 yards passing.
The North Blanco County Emergency Services District No. 1 met at the NBCEMS, 105 Bill Watson Dr. in Johnson City, Texas on April 19, 2021, and President David O’Bannon called the regular meeting to order at 7p.m. All commissioners were present and there were no public comments.
