For the third year in a row Johnson City’s lone golfer, Zackhery Hernandez has qualified to advance to the Regionals Golf Competition.
Zackhery competed in the 3A District 25 Golf Tournament on Monday, April 10 and Tuesday, April 11. Blanco, Comfort, Georgetown Gateway, Ingram Moore, Johnson City and Lago Vista were represented in the District meet.
Commissioners made the first preparations for the next round of budget talks. at their meeting on April 11. They also discussed a new Computer Aided Dispatch System for the Sheriff’s Department.

Commissioners approved the previous meeting’s minutes, April’s payroll and bills.
Commissioner Paul Granberg of Precinct 4 was re-appointed to the Capital Area Rural Transportation System for another two-year term.
A new Council member was sworn into Leandy Pletcher’s vacant seat at the start of April 4’s City Council Meeting. Gayla Guthrie filled the open City Council position and discussed with the other City Council members city park updates, Main Street safety upgrades and the solar site lease.
Guthrie was appointed to fill the open position and is on next month’s election ballot to be voted into the remaining one year of her term.

The Johnson City Eagles played Ingram Tom Moore last Tuesday and claimed a 14-1 victory over the Warriors.
Johnson City wasted no time jumping to a 4-0 first inning lead. The Eagles took advantage of poor Warrior pitching and errors to claim the early lead.

The Johnson City Eagles traveled to Florence Friday evening and faced one of the top teams in District 25AAA and found themselves in a hard fought game falling to Florence. On Tuesday they took a Senior Night win against the Gateway Gators.
