Blanco County Commissioners moved forward with sending an official letter to City of Blanco requesting funds; drafting a lease for the Old Blanco County Jail; and several construction projects around the county in their March 28 Court Session. Five were arrested for drug charges, on their way to California from South by Southwest Festival in Austin last week. On March 19th at approximately 2:46p.m. Johnson City Police Sgt. Chad Wiggins clocked a white four-door Honda passenger car at 48 mph in a posted 35 mph zone on Main street in Johnson City. Sgt Wiggins initiated a traffic stop on this vehicle.

The Johnson City FFA chapter is off to an impressive start by placing high at several Career Development Events (CDEs) this year. The Wildlife Management CDE requires students to be knowledgeable of wildlife species and their habitat, range plants, fish and game laws, and outdoor safety. Team members include Grey Grote, Blake Jenkins, Kelan Painter, Westin Perrenoud, Brinley Portie, Cody Sprouse, Brett Sultemeier, Darren Sultemeier, and Colby Turner.

A dozen individuals were injured as the result of a four-vehicle accident on Friday, March 10. North Blanco County EMS was dispatched with the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department to the scene of the incident South of Johnson City on HWY 281.
