Tristan Schlinke played in the Chicken Express All-Star game in Kerrville, Saturday, April 17. Schlinke played on the North team and they defeated the South 112 to 111. Schlinke scored 12 points, sinking two three-pointers in the game. He also made the finals and placed third in the three point shooting contest.
The Blanco High School boys golf team punched its ticket to the state tournament.
The Panthers placed third in the Region IV 3-A Tournament held at the Schreiner Golf Course in Kerrville April 21-22 with a two-day total of 678.
Columbus shot 655 for first place and Llano finished second with 662.
Individually, Blanco’s Jacob Gallas shot 73 on the first day and 75 on the second day on the par 70 course.
Blanco junior Emilee LaRue won the discus at the Region IV 3-A track meet and will advance to the state meet.
LaRue had a throw of 117-10 at the regional meet held April 23-24 at Judson Stadium in Converse. She had thrown the discus 108 the week before at the area meet.
The Blanco softball team’s run through District 25-3A was perfect.
The Lady Panthers capped their 8-0 district mark with a 25-3 three inning run-rule win over Lago Vista on April 20. Blanco is 14-9 overall.
Sidney Shiller led the Lady Panthers at the plate hitting 4-for-5 with two singles, a double, a triple and six RBI.
Zack Wisdom tossed a no-hitter as Blanco beat Lago Vista 5-0 on April 20. The Panthers improve to 17-4 overall and 5-1 in District 25-3A standings with the win.
Wisdom improved to 6-0 on the year with his no-hit win against the Vikings. He tossed seven strong innings and struck out 13.
Cole Meyer was crowned prom king and Toni Daniels was crowned prom queen at the 2021 Blanco High School Prom Saturday, April 17. The prom was held at the Old Blanco County Courthouse on the square in Blanco. An added bonus for Meyer, it was his birthday and everyone at prom sang Happy Birthday to him.
The final performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be Sunday, April 25, at 2:30 p.m. in the Blanco High School cafeteria. As the show becomes more excellent with each performance, the participants expect their final presentation will be their best and hope to share their gift of music, dancing and storytelling with as many members of the community as would like to attend.
The Lady Panthers run-ruled the Llano Lady Jackets in five innings, 14-3, Friday, April 16 at the BHS softball field. Blanco improves to 13-9 overall and 7-0 in District 25-3A. Comfort is second at 5-3, Llano is third at 3-4, Lago Vista is fourth at 3-4 and Ingram is in fifth place at 0-7.
The Panthers led 6-3 in the fifth inning.
