The Panther baseball team fell to the Llano Jackets 10-6 Friday, April 16. Blanco is 16-4 on the season and 4-1 in District 25-3A. Lago Vista is second at 4-1, followed by Llano at 4-2. Comfort is 2-3 and Ingram is 0-5. Against Llano the Panthers scored one run in the second inning and the Jackets scored one in the fourth.
The Blanco FFA Chapter has been very busy this spring judging in Career Development Events both online and all across the state of Texas. “We have put in thousands of miles, lots of hours of practice and a bunch of hard work. But the experience has been great, and we have had some good placings to show for all the effort,” said Travis Kersten, FFA co-advisor.
The Blanco High School musical theater department opened its staging of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” over the weekend. The first three shows were well attended by family and friends of the cast and crew. The public is invited to attend the final three performances, which will be Friday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, April 18, at 2:30 p.m.; and Sunday, April 25, at 2:30 p.m.

The Blanco softball team sits atop the District 25-3A standings with a 6-0 record after two big wins last week. The Lady Panthers routed Ingram 15-0 April 5 and picked up an 11-4 win against Comfort April 5 to stay unbeaten in district play. Llano is currently in second place in the district with a 3-2 record, followed by Comfort at 3-3.
Congratulations to Blanco Panther Band members April Bucklin, Anastasia Durham, Celeste Campa, Hailey Chalico, Hannah Bates, Cynthany Croft, Lori Lewis, Harley Hensley, Logan McIntosh, Jess Whitehead, Natalia Hernandez, Buddy Hunt and Bruno Lopez for receiving first division ratings on their solos. Special congratulations to April, Hannah, Cynthany, Harley, Buddy, and Bruno for qualifying for the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest with their solos.
The Blanco baseball team is 4-0 at the halfway mark in their District 25-3A schedule with a pair of big wins last week. The Panthers took a 12-0 victory against Ingram April 5 and throttled Comfort 12-1 last Friday. Blanco is 16-3 on the season and 4-0 in district play. Lago Vista is 3-1 in district, followed by Llano at 2-2.
With a large crowd of family, friends, coaches, classmates and teammates gathered in the Blanco High School cafetorium last Thursday, senior Tristan Schlinke signed a commitment to play basketball at Schreiner University in Kerrville. He had multiple offers to play college basketball and ultimately chose to sign to compete as a Mountaineer in the fall of 2021. Schreiner participates in the NCAA Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Blanco boys golf team finished as the District 25-3A runner-up and regional qualifiers on Monday at Scott Schreiner Golf Club in Kerrville. The team consists of Jake Broyles, Wyatt Ledesma, Jacob Gallas, Trayton Preiss and Mitchell Dalland. Gallas was also awarded second place medalist honors for his outstanding play.
