The Panthers moved themselves into 2nd placed behind Jarrell in District 25-3A with a 45-41 win over the Lago Vista Lady Vikings on Tuesday, February 3 and a 48-28 victory over the Florence lady Buffaloes on Friday, Feb. 6.
Against Lago Vista, Lexee Jenkins paced the team with 15 points, followed closely by jamie McClinton with 11.
On Saturday, Feb. 7, select Panther Band Members traveled to Sam Houston High School in San Antonio and competed at the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. In all, BHS had 24 students receive Division 1 Ratings, which is the highest rating awarded. These students will advance to the UIL State Solo and Ensemble contest in May.
LAMPASAS—With 21 brands and 176 styles from which to choose, you wouldn't think shoes would be a problem for an athlete, but they were for Llano powerlifter Dalton Dewveall, January 22, in the second meet of the year. He was able to shake that off—the problem, not the shoes—and capture one of two gold medals claimed by Clint Easley's team during a Thursday afternoon-and-night session that almost made it to Friday.

Blanco Independent School District (BISD) celebrated the playoff run of the Blanco High School (BHS) Panther Football team with medals during a special session held in the cafetorium on Monday, Jan. 12.
In a highlight-filled season, the Panthers clawed their way to the state semi-final championship game where the team lost to Newton 48-21.
The 76th Blanco County 4-H and FFA Youth Show begins Thursday, January 15th at the Blanco County Show Barn in Johnson City. This year there are more than 525 entries. These leaders of tomorrow put in many hours, and often times, a lot their hard-earned money working towards a successful project and show.
