The Mason High School UIL Academic Team competed last week in the 73rd Sonora Invitational Tournament and came home as meet champions. This was the third year in a row that MHS has won at Sonora. The competition proved to be a very successful tune-up for the upcoming district meet in late March.
In all, students brought home 26 medals in 13 different events, with students earning 10 gold medals.

The Mason Junior High Cowgirls competed in their first track meet on Friday, February 15, at the Comfort Ribbon Meet. All of our Cowgirls competed well. Because it was a ribbon meet, we do not have results for field events, but we do have times for running events. The athletes were awarded ribbons for each heat of races.

Mason ISD is currently accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented Program. Nominations will be accepted until 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2018. If you would like to nominate your child for the screening/testing process of the Gifted and Talented Program, please go to the Mason Elementary/Junior High Office for the necessary paperwork.

This year CTEC is offering twenty-five $1,000 college scholarships, bringing the combined amount of financial help awarded to area students over the program’s 22-year history to $584,000. Completed scholarship applications must be in the Fredericksburg CTEC office by 5 p.m., Friday, February 22.
In order to be eligible, applicants must attend a recognized Texas institution of higher education in the fall 2019 semester and be considered a full-time student.
