Friday night's matchup with Brackett had a lot of unique aspects. It began with a start time one hour earlier than usual due to the threat of rainfall for the area. After that beginning, it would be a night fans will well remember.
Half way through the first quarter, the Punchers began pulling together their momentum and Seth Hudson sent a pass out to Evan Dayton who shot across the goal for the first score of the night.
Three former Mason Punchers that will be playing for the Hardin Simmons Cowboys this Saturday in a crucial American Southwest Conference Showdown against Mary Hardin Baylor in Abilene this Saturday with kickoff slated at 1 p.m. Both teams come in with an undefeated record of 8-0. Hardin Simmons comes in ranked 12th in the Nation which is their highest ranking in quite some time.
The 2015-16 Mason Cowgirl basketball season is just a few short weeks from tip-off. The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches preseason poll has been released and the Cowgirls are ranked 8th among Class AA schools. You will be able to meet all the Mason Cowgirl basketball teams on Tuesday, November 3rd at 6:30pm in the high school gym.

The old expression "can't know a player without a program" still has traction, but particularly at this time of year, the same is true of coaches.
Few would join picket lines opposing college presidents announcing "votes of confidence" for coaches soon to be sent packing.
We had 15 golfers show up for the 10/14 Scramble, and they were formed up into four teams. We teed off promptly at 5:00pm, and by 7:00pm the teams began returning to the club house to post their scores. It appears that the skill balance between the teams was pretty closely matched, since 3 of the 4 teams carded a score of 4 under par.

Our seventh grade Punchers played a hard fought game against Junction. A low scoring game but a very much improved game. The boys came out with a lot more intensity and played the way that they know how to with a 14-0 win over the Eagles.

Eighth grade came to play on Thursday.
Last week the JV traveled to Junction to take on the Eagles for the second time this year.
The Punchers started off with the ball and drove it down the field on a 10 play 60 yard drive that was caped off by Fernando Torres on a 3 yard touchdown run.
The score from Friday night's victory of the Mason Punchers over the Junction Eagles doesn't begin to tell the tale of what a hard-fought game it was.
The Punchers took the opening kickoff and began a slow, steady drive down the field. It would take almost half of that first quarter before Seth Hudson was finally able to break out on a quarterback keep and dive seven yards across the goal line.
The Mighty Mason Puncher Band competed in the Region 7 UIL Marching Band Contest this past weekend in Early and came away with the highest rating possible. All three judges gave the band a division 1 rating.
"The judges were very complimentary of the kids," Mr. Halamicek said. "We had some minor flaws and issues, but overall I thought the kids did a great job!"
This year the band is allowed to continue competing for a chance to go to the State Marching Contest.
The JV White team played a fantastic game last Thursday against the Center Point Pirates.
Everything was working in the Punchers' favor. The offense lit up the score board and the defense did a fine job of holding the Pirates to just 7 points. The final score was
