Evelyn Eileen Welsch, 94, of Brazoria, passed from this life on Friday, October 5, 2018, in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was born on July 11, 1924, in Mason, Texas to William and Lillian (Donop) Splittgerber. Evelyn Welsch grew up in rural Mason, Texas. She attended Mason High School where she was a cheerleader.
Camee Carol Rumbaugh of Llano, Texas passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at the age of 35. She was caring and giving and would go out of her way to help those around her, even when she paid the price to do so. She was a true friend. Camee lived for her children and loved them with all her heart.
Henry LeRoy James, known as LeRoy to most, passed away on September 22, 2018, at the age of 77. LeRoy and his beloved wife, Shana K James, moved to this beautiful town in the 1990’s, but Mason was always a home away from home for them and their family. LeRoy is remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved ones and friends as a caring, light hearted, godly, and joyful man to be around.
Lee Roy Westbrook Jr., age 74, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home in Mason County on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Lee Roy Jr. was born on March 10, 1944, in Tonopah, Nevada. Lee Roy spent much of his life in Dallas where his family owned and operated JGB Enterprises, Inc., also known as Westbrook Construction.
Lee Roy Westbrook, Jr. of Streeter, passed away on Sunday, September 23, at the age of 74. Survivors include his wife Michele Westbrook, son Kevin Westbrook, daughters Rosa Carlile and Brandi Westbrook and a sister Rosalee Westbrook Bowers. A full obituary along with service information will be in next week’s paper. Condolences may be sent to the family on-line at masonfuneralhome.net. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mason Funeral Home.
Victor Castillo, of Mason, passed away on Monday, September 10, at the age of 78. Victor was born in Allende, Mexico, on March 7, 1940, to Jose Castillo and Agustina Govea Castillo. He came to the United States. He lived in Denton and Sanger before moving to Mason. He married Eva Jacobs in Denton on August 17, 1984.
Evelyn Claire Spaulding entered this world August 23, 2007. She was a joy to my wife and I. She was a very good baby that cried very little and a joy to our home. As the terrible two’s came she was a busy little girl that got into everything in our house.
Ernesto Marin Gonzalez passed with peace and grace early on September 8, 2018, with his wife Rosa by his side. Predeceased by his first wife Maria Soledad Ojeda Gonzalez, a son Ernesto Gonzales Jr. and brothers Jesus, Bernardo and Ruben Gonzalez Marin. Martin Velasquez Martinez, of Mason and San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, August 26, at the age of 64. Visitation with the family was Thursday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7. The funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, August 31, at 10:30 at St.
Carlton "Buzzy" Keller, born in Loyal Valley, Texas to Henry and Gladys Keller on September 3, 1933, passed away August 27, 2018 at the age of 84. He graduated from Mason High School and attended Texas A&M University where he marched in the Aggie band. Buzzy continued his education and received a BS from Texas Lutheran College as well as his Masters Degree from Southwest Texas State University.
