Judy Reeves was born to Floyd M. Allen and Mary Sue Reeves Allen on June 6, 1943, in Altus, Oklahoma. In 1961, she graduated from Altus High School where she was the Drum Major for the band and Sweetheart of the Choir. She then enrolled at Abilene Christian University where she met her future husband, Perry, in the band.
September 3, 1951 November 28, 2018 Terry Eckert “Snuffy” Smith went to his eternal home on November 26, 2018. Terry graduated from Mason High School in 1972. He lived and worked on the family ranch his entire life. In 2012 Terry joined his mother, Carolyn, in the Knopp Assisted Living facility in Fredericksburg.
June 17, 1985-November 18, 2018 Koby Tyler Smith was born June 17, 1985, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Ted and Trish Smith. He went to be with his Lord November 18, 2018. A sixth generation Masonite, he grew up on the family ranch in Mason along with sisters, Heather and Brigett. He graduated from Mason High School in 2004 where he was a member of the 2003 District Champion Mason Puncher football team.
The mission of Don Cunningham began on January 29, 1942 when he was born to Wesley and Violet (Squiers) Cunningham in Brady, TX. He departed this earth on November 21, 2018 where he will live eternally in heaven. Ray Otto Lubke of Brady, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 11, 2018, in Lubbock, Texas. An only child, Ray was born to Otto and Ella Lubke on May 27, 1941. He was raised in Eden and attended school in Eden graduating in 1959. He then attended ASU(San Angelo College) and graduated from Texas Tech in 1963.
Lila Jo Polk of Mason passed away Thursday November 15, 2018, at the age of 88. Memorial arrangements are pending with burial to be at Gooch Cemetery. Lila Jo was born near Pontotoc, Texas on Thursday, October 9, 1930, to Ossie and Lois (Underwood) Chew. She attended elementary school in Pontotoc.
Koby Smith, of Mason, passed away on Sunday, November 18, at the age of 33. Funeral arrangements are pending. A full obituary will be in next week's edition.
Joshua Kyle Zesch was born June 18, 1999, to Roy and Julie Zesch of San Angelo, TX. Joshua passed away November 17, 2018, in a single vehicle accident. Joshua is survived by his parents Roy and Julie Zesch of San Angelo and 9 siblings, Annie Zesch of San Angelo, Jenny McClure and husband Justin of San Angelo, Patty Rivera and husband Alex of Midland, Joy Zesch, Jimmie Zesch, Michael Zesch, Matthew Zesch, Stella Zesch, and Amy Zesch all of San Angelo.
Edward (Eddie) Simon, age 94, passed away peacefully at New Haven Assisted Living in Kyle, Texas, on November 14, 2018. He was born to Frank Simon and Mary Gerdes Simon Chunn in Mason, Texas on October 6, 1924. He attended school at Grossville and Mason until enlisting, at the age of 17, in the U.
With one last vote Theodora Woodrow Johnson Matthews left this earth. She died on Nov. 6, 2018, after a long and eventful life of 101 years. Theodora was born Oct 21, 1917, at home on the Johnson Ranch in Menard County, TX. She was the 6th of 7 children born to Carrie and Nathaniel (N.J.) Johnson and the last to leave this earth. Theodora attended Tarleton State, University of Texas, and received her bachelor and masters degrees from Sul Ross State University in Alpine.
