Alma was born October 2,1921, in Rockwood, Texas, to Alva Noble and Ella Jane Grimm McSwane. Alma married Roy Albert Williams on August 2, 1940, in Rockwood, TX. They lived in several communities including Coleman, Texas, before moving to Barstow, Texas where Alma was a clerk with the Barstow post office for many years, they moved to Andrews in 1972.
Kendall Cruz Ramirez peacefully passed away in her parents’ arms shortly before her fifth month of life. She came into this world December 29,2017, at 14 ounces and was 10 inches long and surprisingly cried during her first moments of life; doctors and nurses knew she was feisty and were constantly reminding everyone of her strong spirit and keep-fighting attitude.
Jack Edmiston, age 90, of Voca, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018, in Brady. Jack was born September 2, 1927, in Brady to John Errett “Eric” Edmiston and Lillis Ella (Eubank) Edmiston. He married Minnetta Hendrix on January 16, 1947, in Brady. He was a rancher and received numerous 1st place awards, plaques and trophies from the Mason Auction Company and Llano Livestock Auction Company.
Paula Jane Elkinton, 65, of Weatherford, TX, gained her wings on Wednesday May 16th 2018. She was born July 30th 1952, in Rule, Texas, to Paul and Fay Little. She was married twice in her life to Jack Timms and Jim Elkinton. Paula was a long time resident of central Texas with the occasional stop in Oklahoma throughout her life.
Opal Jean Norton, 85, of Austin and formerly of Mason, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She was born on November 19, 1932, in Love County, Oklahoma to Thomas Roy and Lillie Grace Brawley Estes. She grew up in Mason but lived in San Martin, California and Brady as well. Opal had a servant’s heart, and this was apparent by how she lived her life.
Starbucks lost a loyal customer on Friday May 11, 2018. Tom was a kind, intelligent and loving man who enjoyed life to the fullest with his energetic wife and partner, Shellie Smith Yokum, who was always by his side. Tom was born in Dallas, Texas on July 30, 1948, to Betty (Brown) and John Yokum.
Hubert Morgan, of Pontotoc, passed away on Monday, May 14, at the age of 88. He was born at the family ranch at Field Creek in Llano County on July 14, 1929 to Otto V. Morgan and Virginia Simpson Morgan. Hubert attended school at San Fernando Academy in Pontotoc and in Llano where he graduated from high school. After high school Hubert worked as a cowboy and also did carpentry work.
It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Wynona Beth Reynolds Johnson on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Beth was born March 6, 1942, to Luther and Francis Reynolds. She was the middle child and only daughter. She deeply loved her two brothers, Max Reynolds and Mike Reynolds. Mrs. Juanice A. Scott, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 23, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. The funeral service was conducted on Thursday, April 26, at 12:30 p.m. at People’s Baptist Church. Burial was in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family received friends at the church from 10 a.m.
Jamie Stephens passed away on Monday, April 2nd peacefully in her home. Jamie was born December 19, 1941, in Brady, Texas, the daughter of Perry and Cleo (Adams) Wartenbach. She was raised and attended schools in Mason, Texas. She was employed at Mason ISD as the Food Service Director and also drove the Band Bus to all the away football games, to their UIL competitions and any other special events.
