Carlton "Buzzy" Keller, born in Loyal Valley, Texas to Henry and Gladys Keller on September 3, 1933, passed away August 27, 2018 at the age of 84. He graduated from Mason High School and attended Texas A&M University where he marched in the Aggie band. Buzzy continued his education and received a BS from Texas Lutheran College as well as his Masters Degree from Southwest Texas State University.
Kellie Rae Lange Tatsch was born in Fredericksburg on July 23, 1982. She attended Mason High School. She is survived by her husband Logan Tatsch, her children Angelica Martinez, Anstacia Martinez, Mckenzie Martinez and Reami Tatsch. She is also survived by her parents Darrell and Nancy Thompson, a brother John Wesley and Marenda Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews, grandmothers Barbara Thompson all of Mason and Dominga Lange of Fredericksburg. Eva Lorene Coates Lang was given her heavenly wings on August 21st, 2018, at the age of 78. She was born October 28th, 1939, in Mason, TX. She was in Fredericksburg’s Windcrest Nursing Home when she passed. She was a homemaker and worked in the lunchroom and influenced the younger generation at Mason Schools.
Mr. Sidney Wayne Draper, 69 of Mason,TX died on Friday, August 17, 2018 in Snyder. A memorial service for Mr. Draper will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home. Mr. Draper was born on Tuesday, July 12, 1949, in Little Rock, AR, to Donald Ivan and Peggy Dewilda (Tibbs) Draper.
Linda Fay Watson Tear, of Mason, passed away on Friday, July 27, at the age of 69. Linda was born in Mason on January 15, 1949. She attended school in Mason and married Gene Watson. Later she married Bob Tear. She was involved in ranching most of her life. Linda is survived by her children Don Watson of Mason, Linda Lee Tatsch and husband Bobby of Mason, Shelli Ruiz and husband Eric of Mason and Aaron Watson and wife Clara of Llano.
Just short of 99 years young, Ernestine "Tina" Jamerson Wilson passed from this life on Friday, July 27, 2018, two weeks after a fall that fractured her spine. The daughter of Robert Eber Smith and his wife, Nora Gertrude Potts, Tina entered this world in Paris, Texas, on November 25, 1919, the middle child of six siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. Reared in Dallas, Tina learned to tap dance and to skate through the Great Depression.
Douglas B. Gauntt passed away July 20, 2018. He was born November 28, 1936 in Poteet, Texas to William B. and Jewel Mae Gauntt. Mr. Gauntt worked as a superintendent in road construction. He was a very active member of the Mathis Masonic Lodge #1133 and the Tilden Lodge #544. He was a past master of both Lodges, a District Deputy and teacher, training other Masonic members. Mr.
Walter Kulley, of West, Texas, passed away July 11, 2018 at the age of 80. He was born to parents Benjamin and Josephine Kulley June 29, 1938 in Summit, New Jersey, one of ten children. In 1956, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant in 1958. Walt went on to a 33 year career at IBM which led him to several stops across the country until he finally settled in Texas, which he heartily adopted as his own. Vernon Leroy Gooden went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 13, 2018. Chico, as his family and friends lovingly called him, had a perpetual grin on his face to greet each person he met. His hands were strong with callouses from helping everyone in his path. He knew when something needed to be said and what to say, and he knew when it was best to say nothing at all.
Vernon “Chico” Gooden, formerly of Mason, passed away on Friday, July 13, at the age of 87. Survivors include his wife Verena Gooden, of Kerrville, a daughter Suzy Boone of Kerrville and a granddaughter Annie Mayse and husband Allen of Montgomery. Funeral arrangements for “Chico” Gooden are pending. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date.
