Born on June 2, 1958, in Perryton, Texas, Jonathan lived a full and rich, if not short, life. He left us to be with the Lord on Oct. 31, 2018.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Center Point Christian Church. Scott Turner will be officiating.
Emmit Egon Schmidt, 88, of Mason passed away from this life on Thursday October 25th, 2018, in Fredericksburg Texas.
He was born March 11, 1930, in Mason, Texas, to Egon and Emma (Evers) Schmidt. Emmit Schmidt grew up in Mason, Texas, where he attended Mason High School. He enjoyed playing football for the Mason Punchers.
Dennis “DRod” Rodriguez, 49, of Hutto, TX., passed way October 20, 2018, at home. He was born September 3, 1969, in Mason, TX, to Candelaria Hernandez.
Dennis was a Maintenance Superintendent for Cash Construction where he worked for 21 years. He made numerous friends that became his family and he loved them dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother Candelaria Hernandez and grandparents, Pedro and Micaela Hernandez.
Happy Halloween. I always enjoy seeing the kiddos in their costumes. I don’t enjoy the toilet paper blowing into my yard from the neighbors. My poor neighbors have been “wrapped” regularly for about a month.
Daylight Savings Time goes away this week. When I go to bed Saturday night, I will reset the clocks and rejoice Sunday for the return to God’s time.

Larry Gene Thompson, affectionately known as “Pops”, was born January 28, 1947, to Gene and the late Emogene Thompson of Munday. Pops peacefully went home to Jesus October 21, 2018, in Knox County Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.
Larry is a lifetime resident of Munday with the exception of four years at Texas Tech where he met the love of his life, Cindy Zesch of Mason, on the steps of the Tech library.
Eula Mae Martin told her family and friends that she was going to have a “miracle”…her body would be healed, no more pain. She would stand in a field of white flowers before her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On Monday, October 15, 2018 she heard “Eula Mae, work is finished, come home.
Charles Ray Loeffler was born September 14, 1950. His parents were Gilbert and Marie Loeffler.
After attending Mason schools he enrolled in the University of Texas. Charles was a member of the 1970 Longhorn National Championship Football Team. He graduated from UT with a degree in accounting.
In 2000, he and wife Susie moved to Mason to live their dream on Circle Oaks Ranch.

Edward Ray Sheppard was born November 13, 1936, to Roy E. Sheppard and Bertha Schrader. He grew up in and around Llano, Texas. He had such a fondness for the land and the animals of the Texas Hill Country. Edward worked as a plumber but his employment did not define him, it was only a means to an end.
Amelia Ory, known to her friends as Tince, went to her heavenly father October 21, 2018, in Fredericksburg.
The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Stanton, Reverend David Harp officiating. Visitation was Tuesday, October 23 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Gilbreath Funeral Home.
