Last Wednesday, a gas attendant in our little town required me to prove to her I have a disability by showing her my placard and my wheelchair. She told me that I had to have the disability license plate, which is not required. I always call the station and tell them I am there, am in a wheelchair and need assistance with filling my car.

Beginning January 1st, retired Texas teachers will pay more and receive less health care coverage from TRS (Teacher Retirement System of Texas). Many teachers are dropping their TRS coverage and seeking other options for health care.
Last Friday morning I contacted TRS to terminate my TRS-Care. The representative told me that I would need a termination form (700B). The form was not available online. I asked her to mail the form, since I did not have a fax number.

Thanks to Ted Cruz’ amendment to the tax scam called the Tax Cut and Jobs Act, Texas school funding is set to lose $1,653,683 in the first year, and $16,536,826 over ten years.
But no worries, if the tax scam passes, the rich will be able to add TAX FREE money to their 529 plan to fund private school education for their kids by up to $10,000 per year.
