Johnson City hosted the Comfort Bobcats last Tuesday, and sent all three Bobcat teams back home with a loss. The Varsity won in high-scoring fashion, JC 87, Comfort 77, and both JV teams secured a victory.
JC started strong against Comfort’s press, scoring a season high 31 points in the first quarter, and carried the attack into half-time, leading 49 to 38.

Coach Katy Taylor and her Lady Eagles took on the Comfort Deer at home last Tuesday Jan. 9.
The Lady Eagles kept it close through two quarters, “executing a lot of things we have been focusing on defensively,” Coach Taylor said post-game.

In May of 2017, the Johnson City School Board announced Richard Kolek would be filling the position of Superintendent for JCISD. Earlier this month, he gave his State of the District report to the school board for the first time since he was hired. Among the top matters of business were financing, enrollment and technology.
The biggest change in the district since Kolek took the reins is completing the process for Johnson City to become a District of Innovation.

The lady Eagles hosted the LBJ Basketball Tournament last weekend and made it to the championship round after defeating Heritage, Our Lady of the Hills and Bosqueville teams.
The girls beat Heritage 37-34 with a last second 3-pointer hit by Trinity Puckett. Next up was Our Lady of the Hills who we beat 37-22, and Bosqueville who we beat 39-24.
