The University Interscholastic League (UIL) is presenting modifications to the 2020-2021 UIL calendar and updated COVID-19 risk mitigation guidelines, set to take effect August 1, 2020. The modifications to the 2020-2021 calendar differ by activity and conference and can be found on the UIL website and in the chart below. These adjustments reflect the public health situation at this time and the varying numbers of COVID-19 cases across different geographic areas of the state.
Lady Eagle Kenzie Adrian (2020) received a $250 scholarship from the Texas Throwers Club, a nonprofit established in 2009 to promote the throwing events in Track and Field in Texas. Adrian started competing at TTC meets during her freshman year at LBJHS. She has committed to continue her athletic career in the javelin and heptathlon at the NCAA Division 1 level for Tarleton State University.

Payton Scott, a 2017 graduate of LBJ High School, was recently announced as a member of the Red River Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference Team representing The University of the Southwest (Hobbs, NM) Baseball. Scott just completed an abbreviated Sophomore season with the Mustangs as a 1st Baseman. For the Eagles he was an All-District selection for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
One Johnson City, Texas, resident was named on Oklahoma Baptist University’s academic honor roll for the spring 2020 semester. The Dean’s Honor Roll included Laina Poe, a nursing major. The President’s Honor Roll recognizes students who achieved a semester grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The Dean’s Honor Roll acknowledges those who achieved a grade point average from 3.4 to 3.69.
LBJ HIGH School Senior Mason Roberts was the Overall Charting Champion and Overall Camp Champion last week at the Kicking World Long Snapper Camp in Austin. According to Camp Coach David Carney of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, “Coming into camp, Roberts was already an established snapper; throughout camp he listened and applied the coaching to his snap and it was great to see him improve and become even better.” Carney continued, “He had 14.5 points in the field goal charting phase and avera ...
AUSTIN– The Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) Foundation recently awarded 32 local high school seniors and college students with a combined $62,000 in higher education scholarships. Willow Grote of the LBJHS Class of 2020, has received the Blanco County Farm Bureau Scholarship of $1000. She is the daughter of Scott and Margaret Grote. Grote believes she is deserving of this scholarship because she is an extremely driven person. She is very determined to complete and use her education to better others.
By Julie Storer Nineteen members of the LBJ High School Class of 2020 proudly included a red, white and blue Honor Cord in their formal regalia worn during their recent graduation ceremony at Eagle Field. The cord signified that the wearer had completed 100 or more documented hours of school and/or community service through a campus program called Eagles in Service.
LBJ High School is pleased to recognize 4 students who earned industry certifications this academic year.
