A new school year is approaching and with it, changes in your usual routine.

With a pre-season Top Ten ranking (#7 - Texas Girls’ Coaches Association Class 2A Poll), a feature in the Austin American Statesman and four days of practice under their belts the Lady Eagles made a strong showing on Friday in their scrimmage at 4A Wimberley in the first outing of the 2020 season.
Many high school football programs start strong then see their numbers dwindle by the end of the first week of August practices in the sweltering Texas heat. The JC Eagles missed that memo as they opened strong with 48 athletes reporting for the first workout last Monday and added four by the end of the week.

After a four-and-one-half month break from the gym the LBJ High School Lady Eagles showed up in record numbers Monday morning for the start of the 2020 Volleyball season. Thirty-one athletes - 11 freshman, 11 sophomores, 6 juniors and 3 seniors - hit the track at Eagle Field in the early morning to take advantage of a break in the heat for the conditioning portion of their two-a-day workouts.

In the the early morning coolness that characterizes Hill Country summer mornings the familiar sounds of whistles, hand claps, words of encouragement and those of admonishment are expected to fill the air Monday on fields and in gyms across the state as 1A-4A schools return to action in Football and Volleyball.
JCISD conducted a special meeting on Tuesday, July 21 at 6 p.m. in the LBJ High School Commons Area. President Shelly Wenmohs called the meeting to order, and a quorum was established with members Brit Odiorne and Randy Rutherford absent. There were no public comments.
In view of the fluid circumstances surrounding preparations for the 2020-2021 school year, the JCISD Board voted unanimously to revise the 2020-2021 JCISD Academic Calendar.
The 2021 fundraising campaign of the Johnson City Community Education Foundation got a jump-start last week with a $50,000.00 donation from Kinder Morgan, the company constructing the Permian Highway Pipeline through Blanco County.
JCCEF Board Chair Cynthia Keene stated that the donation is the largest single donation received by the foundation since its inception in 2006.
