The Blanco County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public in locating Sonny Ray Byrne.
Byrne was convicted in 2011 in Bexar County, Texas for Sexual Assault of a Child. Byrne was released from prison and registered as a sex offender.
However, Byrne failed to appear to renew his registration and has absconded.

Buchanan Dam Fire Chief Mark Hutson was shocked when he walked into the fire station Friday morning.
After receiving multiple calls that the station’s bay doors were open, the fire chief walked in to find a mess with broken glass, damaged equipment and other items piled up. Several items were also stolen, and Hutson said the damages and items stolen totaled about $40,000.
