The Lyndon B. Johnson High School senior class is planning a fundraiser dodgeball tournament for their drug and alcohol free “Project Graduation” party.
The Dodgeball tournament is to take place on December 17 at the Hyatt Gym at 10 a.m. Registration for the event starts at 9 a.m. Registration forms can be picked up from the front office of any of the JCISD offices.

I walked up to the counter of a very popular store the other day and there was the most offensive, agitating, insensitive sign I ever saw.
The Johnson City Library will host a free four-part reading, viewing and discussion series for adults called Pushing the Limits. Our library is one of 60 rural public libraries nationwide receiving grants to host the series. Pushing the Limits brings together books and video featuring authors, scientists and everyday people who thrive on exploring the natural world.

The Lady Eagle 7th and 8th grade girls traveled to Ingram Monday evening to take on the Lady Warriors.
Our Lady Eagle 7th graders fell to Ingram, 15-50. The Lady Warriors of Ingram outmatched our Lady Eagles throughout most of the game. The team once again struggled to break a strong Ingram press and ended up turning the ball over many times, each time leading to Ingram baskets.
The 47th Annual LBJ Tree Lighting will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18th, 2016 at 6 p.m., at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site. This tradition was started 47 years ago in the Hill Country community by President and Mrs. Johnson. This is a memorable family evening for all to experience the heritage of the Texas Hill Country and continue the legacy of Lyndon B.
Pedernales Electric Cooperative hosted its second of two special meetings involving a complaint against Vice President of the Board of Directors, James Oakley. At the first meeting on November 30 the Board appointed a Complaint Committee to decide the course of action PEC would take. The Complaint Committee met again on December 7, 2016 to hear more public comments and discuss their decision with legal counsel.
The complaint originated from a comment Oakley made on Facebook on November 21.
