Bond Project Update
Jennifer Black, Casey Sledge, and Britt Lucas of Sledge Engineering gave updates to the Board regarding Plans, Cost Estimates, and Budget for 2018 Bond Package 2 Construction Documents.
The third annual Young Life banquet was held Monday night at the High School Commons. High School youth served a delicious meal catered by Rayette Bible with meat provided by Kip Thompson and cooked to perfection by Will Evers. Josh Smithson was the speaker for the evening. He is the Young Life area leader from Kerrville.
Judge Brett Bray called the special meeting of the Blanco Commissioners Court to order at 9:01 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18. All four commissioners were present for this meeting. The only discussion that took place was regarding the Nov. 5 election. Oscar Villarreal, elections administrator, provided a brief summary of the results and informed the court that the election ran smoothly.
The Blanco County Commissioners Court unanimously approved the Master Pipeline Agreement last Tues. Nov. 12. The Master Pipeline Agreement is composed of three different agreements: Pipeline Easement Agreement, Master Road Use Agreement, and the Blanco County Investment Agreement. Copies of the full agreements can be found on the Blanco County’s website under Public Notices tab in the Commissioners Court meeting 11-12-19 supporting documents.

According to Cross Country Coach Kaznie Clark, the following students were recognized after competing for District in Jarrell: Akira Finegan, Maura Ibanez (8th), McKenna Cowsert, Lydia White (1st), Emma Burke, and Reed Moore (8th).
For the Seniors- seventeen Football players, one Student Manager, five Cheerleaders and seven in the Fighting Eagle Band - Friday night was going to bittersweet no matter what...the last home game of the season, Parent Night and possibly - maybe probably - the last Football game in their high school careers.
Johnson City’s favorite Thanksgiving Day tradition is on again this year: the annual Free Community Thanksgiving Potluck Feast at the First United Methodist Church.
It’s a true old-fashioned neighborhood-style event. The church provides the basics, volunteers do the cooking, a couple hundred folks bring side dishes, salads, and desserts, and everyone sits down to a full plate.

Johnson City Special Olympics athletes competed in Area 13 Bowling Competition in Austin last week. They competed against athletes from Austin and surrounding school districts. They have been training for the last two months. Eris Stone, 6th grader, earned a silver medal in her division. Maria Alvarado, 7th grader, earned a bronze medal, and Hollianna Tassin, a freshman earned a 6th place ribbon.
Mayor President Rhonda Stell called the Regular Meeting of Johnson City City Council to order at 6 p.m. on November 5. All Council members were present, and Pastor Steve Sanchez of Church of the Hills gave the Invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
