The Ecumenical Center, a San Antonio-based nonprofit provider of counseling and mental health services, has signed on to provide services to Blanco County residents at the Community Resource Center (CRC). The Blanco County CRC will provide office and meeting space for 30 federal, state, and nonprofit service providers. It will be located at 206 S.
The Eagle Field stands were full with fans lining the fences to witness the 38-7 drubbing of Florence which broke the drought for the Varsity Eagles on Homecoming 2019. With just a few months left until the magic of Christmas lights up the Texas Hill Country, it was announced on September 26 that the Hill Country Christmas Lights Drive-Thru display will be returning to Johnson City, TX (known last season as “A Lone Star Christmas.”) This privately owned and funded drive-thru Christmas light display is the the largest and only free-of-charge drive-thru Christmas light display in the Hill Country.

Art Beat Studio and Gallery is bringing a new heartbeat and art styles to the Johnson City art scene. The gallery showcases the work of three artists who call Johnson City home, and is also the location of art classes hosted by these artists and guest teachers. The gallery has been open since July yet just celebrated their Johnson City Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on September 19.

The Varsity Lady Eagles completed another perfect week to push their District 25-3A record to 5-0 with three games remaining in the first round. Last Tuesday they traveled to Georgetown to take on the Gateway Lady Gators - Area finalists in 2018 and always tough on their home court. The Freshman team fought hard in falling to a more experienced JVB team in two sets. The JV team found their rhythm and beat the Lady Gators in an exciting three-set match.
The Rotary Club of Blanco County in partnership with the Blanco County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are providing “Save a Life Kits” for citizens in our community.
The population of Blanco County is more than 11,000 people and the effort is being made by the Rotary for each family home to have a kit.
