The Wenmohs Ranch on Old Spicewood Road recently received a certification from the Family Land Heritage Program by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The Family Land Heritage Program is a recognition program that honors families who have owned and operated a continuous agricultural operation for 100 years or more. Historic Twin Sisters Dance Hall welcomed the music, laughter and dancing of the 5th annual Festival of Texas Fiddling. Origins The Blanco County News recently interviewed Blanco County Community Choir (BCCC) Co-Director Vicky Pautz. Pautz told the BCN that in 1975 Beverly Voron of Johnson City created the BCCC as a community choir group that would bring the voices of Blanco and Johnson City together. Vicky and her husband Dr. Doug Pautz moved to Blanco in 1980, and Vicky began singing with the BCCC.
It was a record crowd at the First United Methodist Church this year, with more than 200 diners served at the Free Community Thanksgiving Potluck Feast, including a couple dozen who had take-out meals delivered. On Friday, November 29, the Hye Hall community celebrated an official ribbon cutting ceremony and the beginning of Opening Weekend. The Lost Sounds of a Texas Honky Tonk played for a dancing crowd afterwards. Hye Hall will host dance lessons this Wednesday, December 4 at 6 p.m. Hye Hall and Hye Market will provide a Hill Country supper, cooked by Chef Matt Church, through 8 p.m.

Coaches from across District 25-3A showed their respect for the undefeated Champion Lady Eagles when making All-District selections for 2019. North Blanco County Emergency Services District 1 held a Regular Meeting on November 18. President David O’Bannon called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. and a quorum was established. Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department Interim President Scott Peters of Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department (JCVFD) gave the report for October. Peters reported that there were a total of 31 calls with an average response time of 4.83 minutes and 3.5 average responders.
