With two championships in four days, including an undefeated district title and Bi-District crown, the Lady Eagles have done more than “rebuild” in the 2019 Volleyball season. The new Blanco County CRC project includes construction of a 7,500 sq. ft. building offering free office and meeting space for 30 plus federal, state, and nonprofit agencies who will provide their services to Blanco County residents. The CRC will not only increase access to existing area services but will also provide a place for agencies to deliver new services.

By Tricia Hartmann Blanco County Commissioners held a Special Meeting on October 22. All Commissioners were present. Carrie L. Pickering of Linebarger Attorneys at Law of Austin gave a presentation to the Court regarding a Resolution/Order to add a collection fee to delinquent court fines and fees pursuant to article 103.0031 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
North Blanco County Emergency Services District # 1 held a Regular Meeting on October 21. President David O’Bannon called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. and a quorum was established. Minutes of the September 16th Regular Meeting were approved following motion from Board Member Curt McIlhaney and second from Board Member Brandt Rayburn; motion carried.
AUSTIN – An historic oil on canvas painting by the renowned Texas artist Porfirio Salinas (1910-1973), created to be presented to President John F. Kennedy at Vice President Lyndon Johnson’s ranch on Nov. 23, 1963 – the day after JFK’s assassination – is the headliner lot in an auction planned for November 16 and 17 by Austin Auction Gallery, online and in the gallery. The auction date is close to the 56 anniversary of the Kennedy assassination – November 22, 1963.
The Blanco County Farm Bureau held its’ Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 22, at the Blanco High School. More than 150 Farm Bureau members enjoyed a complementary BBQ dinner, an informative and entertaining talk led by Mr. Gene Hall, Farm Bureau Director of Communications, and a presentation to honor Mr.
Interim President Scott Peters called the Business Meeting of JCVFD to order at 6 p.m. on October 23. Peters told the group, “The reason for this meeting is because the ESD has requested JCVFD hand over title to all assets and properties. JCVFD has refused to do so each time and variation of the request since early 2019.
