Shinyribs is the continuation of Kevin Russell’s musical journey which began in Beaumont,TX when, at 14, he found his father’s guitar under his bed, along with a sewing machine, a billy club and a box of comic books. Luckily he chose the guitar. Following his family’s oil boom and bust migratory path he landed in Shreveport,LA where he formed his first band.

In 1987 the citizens of Blanco took on a huge challenge when they voted to keep The Old Blanco County Courthouse on Blanco's Historic Town Square for the benefit and use of the community. In the hands of the then newly- formed Old Blanco County Courthouse Preservation Society, the historic Courthouse, built in 1885, found a new lease on life and has become an integral part of the community.
