Blanco Performing Arts Announces Its 6th Season Lineup

Blanco Performing Arts is pleased to announce the lineup of performers for its sixth season, entitled, "A Few of My Favorite Things." Concerts will be held in the beautiful Uptown Blanco Ballroom located at 503 Third Street in Blanco.

The season kicks off on November 7 at 7:30 p.m. with an outstanding group, the Miró Quartet. For more than 19 years, the Miró Quartet has received consistently high praise for their deeply musical interpretations, exciting performances, and thoughtful programming. The Miró Quartet performs throughout the world in the most important chamber music series and on the most prestigious concert stages, garnering accolades from critics and audiences alike. The Blanco Performing Arts is especially proud to be able to present this group. The Austin Chronicle says that listening to the "Miró was like being inside a perfectly tuned Porsche with an expert hand at the wheel."

Revel Classical Band returns to the Uptown Blanco Ballroom on December 19. They will present a program entitled "A Russian Winter." NowPlayingAustin.com says you should come hear this group "if you love classical music and want to hear some true masters."

On February 20, 2016, the concert will feature clarinetist Victoria Luperi performing with violinist, Susan Dubois, and pianist, Larissa Cherkasov. The program will include Mozart, Debussy, Schubert, Messager, Chopin, and Bruch. The Dallas Morning News declared Luperi's performance as "Magic."

Jonathan Tsay, pianist, will play for the April 23, 2016 concert honoring Gershwin, Ravel, and others. Author, critic, and pianist John Bell Young said, "Jonathan Tsay is the genuine article, whose name and playing deserve a place of esteem in the hearts and libraries of music lovers everywhere. I cannot recommend him highly enough."

BPA will round out the season with violinist Kathryn Eberle, along with pianist Jason Hardink and special guest violinist Julia Pautz on June 5, 2016. One member of the BPA audience on her last appearance said she was "dazzling."

Season tickets are now on sale at BlancoPeformingArts.com. Season tickets are $140 with season tickets for seniors (age 60 and above) at $125, and students at $50. Checks can also be mailed to BPA, P.O. Box 1721, Blanco, TX 78606 or call 830-385-1173 for additional information.
