The event will be held on the banks of the beautiful Pedernales River where Lyndon B. Johnson himself would fish. The fishing day event is located within LBJ State Park and Historic Site at the Group Picnic area on Ranch Road 1.

The annual Real Ale Ride, Bicycle Sport Shop’s most popular event, rolls through the scenic hills of Blanco on Saturday, May 21, 2016. It’s a ride for cyclists of all levels, with distances of 15, 30, 50, 65, and 80 miles. Routes are fully supported with rest stops that provide water and nutritional snacks for participants along the way, as well as “SAG” vehicles to help cyclists with mechanical issues or those who need help getting back to the finish line.

The first Llano Rodeo was held in 1919 west of town where T.J. Moore’s pecan orchard is now, on the old picnic grounds, as it was called back then. Steer Roping, Bull and Steer riding, Bronco riding, and bulldogging were some of the first events. In 1933 the rodeo was moved to Robinson Park where it was located for a couple of more years.
