The Blanco junior varsity football team hosted the Ro-Hawks from Randolph Thursday evening, Sept. 20. The Panthers kicked-off to the Ro-Hawks, who fumbled, with Waylon Hall recovering for the Panthers. Quarterback Gavin Young went to work under center Julian Pesina, where the Panthers put together an eight play scoring drive ending with a 29 yard touchdown pass to Deonte Hector.
Thursday, Sept. 27 is National Parent Group Day an event designated to recognizes the hard work PTOs and PTAs do to make their schools even better places for students. School parent groups support schools in two key ways, by providing volunteers and by funding items not included in school budgets. More than 83,000 school parent groups support K-8 schools in the United States.
The Blanco junior varsity football team played at Marion on Thursday, Sept. 13. The defensive battle ended in a 0-0 tie. Blanco moved the ball well in the first half, but couldn’t get much offense going in the second half. Some untimely penalties stopped drives. Marion moved the ball inside the 20-yard line several times, but the Panthers were able to stop the Bulldogs on downs or turnovers. The junior varsity plays a home game against Randolph on Thursday, Sept.
The Blanco Panther football team hosted the Bulldogs from Marion Friday night, Sept. 14, in what would prove to be a tough battle on a soggy and rainy night. The Panthers lost 29-22, but fought through all four quarters, and even to the final seconds of the game. Quarterback Baylor Smith threw for 65 yards, rushed for another 63 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns.

The clash of the Lady Panthers and the state ranked Johnson City Lady Eagles on Friday, Sept. 14 was just as anticipated….a nail-biter. The points were hard-fought. The Panthers were victorious on this night with a match score 3-1. Set scores were 25-22, 21-25, 26-24, and 25-22. The Eagles were ranked fifth in conference 3A on the Texas Girl’s Coaches Association 2018 Top 25 volleyball poll as of Tuesday, Sept 11.
Kendelle John won the game ball at Friday night's football game.  Accompanying Kendelle are Lions John Jones and Sam Sevier. The Lions Club sells tickets on the game ball at each home game. All the proceeds from the ticket sales go toward college scholarships.
The Lady Panther varsity cross country team placed second at the Liberty Hill High School meet on Saturday, September 8. Team members and their results pictured, left to right, are Asher Haack, 3rd place; Steely Steiner, 2nd place; Johanna Villarreal, 1st place; Kendall Kramer, 41st place; Ella West, 27th place; Olivia Atchley,12th place; McKenna Clark, 38th place; Ashtyn Hunt, 31st place, and Carlie Waxler, 46th place.
The Blanco junior varsity football team traveled to Austin to take on the Crusaders of St. Michael’s on Thursday, Sept. 6. Deonte Hector carried for 15 yards and a 15 yard touchdown reception from Gavin Young gave the Panthers the lead. The Crusaders put together a quick score, despite great tackles by the Panther defense from Young, Gonzales, and Waylon Hall.
