The Blanco Lady Panthers added two more wins to their district record, sweeping the Manor New Tech Titans 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 2 and the Georgetown Gateway Gators 3-0 on Friday, Oct. 5. Blanco improves their overall record to 22-12 and their district record to 8-0.
Against the Titans the set scores were 25-6, 25-12 and 25-17.
The Area VII FFA Greenhand Camp was help on September 22, 2018 at O’Connor High School in Helotes, TX. Greenhand Camp is for students, typically freshman, who are participating in their first year of Agricultural Education. This five-hour leadership camp hosted by the Area VII FFA Officers emphasizes team building, goal setting, introductory FFA, and plenty of opportunities to make new friends from across the state of Texas.

BHS celebrated one of the most spirit-filled, jam-packed homecoming eeeks this past Monday through Friday. By dressing up for a daily theme, having a blast at Wednesday’s pep rally and parade, rallying for the Panthers at Friday’s football game to attending Saturday’s homecoming dance, students showed some true Panther pride.

UIL Academics is a program where students can compete against other students in a variety of academic subjects. UIL season is approaching at full hilt for the students of Blanco High School.
For the remainder of the first semester, students will practice and strengthen their skills for the much-anticipated UIL Academics District Meet held next semester on Saturday, March 30, 2019.
After an awesome week of Homecoming festivities, the Panthers hosted a top-20, 4A-D1 team from Canyon Lake on Friday, Sept. 28. The captains for Blanco, Austin Archuleta, Kyle Martinez, Brock Nichols, and Jesus Arteaga, met the officials and the Hawk’s captains at center field for the coin toss. Canyon Lake won the toss and decided to receive the kick off.
The Blanco Lady Panther volleyball team finished the first half of district play with a 6-0 record after defeating the Jarrell Lady Cougars, 3-0, Tuesday, Sept. 25. Set scores were 25-12, 25-9, and 25-10. Hanna Srackangast was on fire hitting 10 kills, two service aces, and one block. Carly Haack delivered seven kills and four aces.
The 8th grade Panther football team outscored the Sonora Colts 34-16 on Thursday, Sept. 27. Sonora struck first with a touchdown and a two point conversion, but Blanco fired back with a 55 yard TD run by Nathan Tomlinson.
The two point conversion was no good. Cade Cress made a 60 yard carry to set up the next touchdown.
The Lady Panther volleyball team tallied two district wins in the Blanco gym this past week to improve their district record to 5-0. The Lady Panthers are currently ranked 23rd in 3A competition in the state.
On Tuesday, Sept. 18 Blanco tangled with the Lago Vista Lady Vikings securing a 3-1 win.
