The Panther basketball team outscored the Manor New Tech Titans 70-43 Tuesday, Jan. 14. The Panthers are 19-7 overall and 6-1 in District 25-3A standings.
Tristan Schlinke was the leading scorer with 21 points. Gavin Young and Caleb Meyer each scored 11. Mitchell Hebert sank nine points. Zack Wisdom added eight and Andrew Sanchez scored seven points.
The junior varsity Panthers beat the Titans 54-46.

The Panther basketball team put themselves back in the hunt for the district title with a victory over the Jarrell Cougars Friday, Jan. 10, 72-55 and a decisive win against the Johnson City Eagles Tuesday, Jan. 7, 70-28.
The district standings just got crowded at the top spot with four teams with one district loss, including Blanco (5-1), Jarrell (4-1), Georgetown Gateway (4-1), and Lago Vista (5-1).
The Lady Panthers split district games this past week with a 59-21 win Tuesday, Jan. 7 against the Johnson City Lady Eagles and a 45-33 loss to the Jarrell Cougars Friday, Jan. 10.
Blanco and Jarrell were both undefeated in district prior to last week’s game. Blanco’s season record is 17-6 and its district record is 4-1.
The Lady Panther basketball team holds a 16-5 season record with a current 12-game winning streak, including six wins over the holiday break. The Panthers are 3-0 in district play.
The Blanco team hosted the FEAST Home School Patriots Friday, Jan. 3 in a non-conference game. The Panthers jumped out to an 18-12 first quarter lead and continued that pace through the second quarter, 19-13.
The Panther basketball team improved to 16-7 overall and 3-1 in district during the holidays. Blanco played six games during the break, including four games in the Randolph Ro-Hawk Tournament, one non-conference game and one district game, winning four of the six.

The Lady Panther basketball team finished third in District 25-3A and advanced to the Bi-District playoff game against the Randolph Ro-Hawks at New Braunfels High School Tuesday, Feb.
Student and adult members of Blanco CoAPT were in action Dec. 19 to kick off its “Sticker Shock” project in Blanco. With the help of several Blanco businesses, they were able to place sticker warning-labels on alcoholic products to warn adults that furnishing alcohol to minors is illegal, and warn them of the consequences.
The Lady Panthers improved to 3-0 in district with a 36-32 win against the Lago Vista Lady Vikings Friday, Dec. 20, and a 64-35 victory over the Florence Lady Buffalo Dec. 17. Blanco is 10-5 on the season.
The game against Lago Vista was a low-scoring, defensive match-up. Blanco jumped out to an early lead with the first quarter score 12-3.
The Panther varsity basketball team split district games this past week, winning Dec. 17 by a 80-42 margin over the Florence Buffalo then falling Dec. 20 to the Lago Vista Vikings, 76-58.
The Panthers hold a 12-5 overall record and are 2-1 in district.
Against the Buffalo, Gavin Young was the scorer with 21 points.
