At Mason Independent School District, spring STAAR testing season started last week. Next on the district’s calendar are eight testing days from May 4-7 and 11-14. The cast and crew of SILENT SKY, Mason’s One Act Play 2021 entry, won Bi-district and are now preparing for Region in Corpus Christi on Tuesday, April 13. Students took home some impressive honors at Bi-district at Tivy HS on March 19. In rare fashion, Will Ince and Hannah Bishop were BOTH awarded Top Performers (formerly Best Actor and Best Actress), Abbey Wallace was All Star Cast while Linden Chapman and Lauren Olson won Honorable Mention All Star Cast.
With last season’s youth baseball season sidelined due to Covid precautions; Mason’s youngsters; ages ranging from 5 to 14 are enjoying their opportunity this season to get out on the diamond and have some fun. Mason’s season begins in March and ends in May coinciding with the summer break from school.

The Mason High School boys and girls varsity track and field teams recently competed in the annual Armadillo Relays on Thursday, March 25 at San Saba High School. MASON PUNCHERS VARSITY The Punchers had several boys athletes do quite well in the track events as Fernando Callejas placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.27, Blake Lewis placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.31 seconds, and Brody Comey placed third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.61. ...
The 2021 Mason High School One Act Play won the District One Act Play contest with first place ranks from all three judges on March 2 at the Mason HS Auditorium. The students have been attending rehearsals after long days of school and sport practices, sacrificing free time on Sunday afternoons while keeping up with school work to prepare their production.
