The Punchers defeated Sabinal 10-2 last Thursday in the Bi-District round of the playoffs.
The game was tied at two with the Punchers batting in the top of the fifth when Klay Klaerner’s sac fly scored one run for the Punchers. The Punchers tallied four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Jake Cockerham and Otto Wofford and a double by Emanuel Martinez.
Martinez toed the rubber for Punchers.

At the end of Wednesday’s play, the Punchers were tied for second place and the Cowgirls were in fourth place. Not much sleep took place Wednesday night thinking about what needed to be done the following day. The wind changed directions now coming from the North. The air temperature dropped 20 degrees in the morning.

Mason Cowgirls fought back after falling down by six runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 13-12 defeat to Comanche on Monday. The Hill Country Sheep & Goat Organization offered scholarships under two different sets of qualifications for 2018:
Graduate of a Hill Country county high school, accepted or enrolled at a Texas college/university/technical school, and majoring in an Agricultural field.
Child of an active Texas State Trapper, accepted or enrolled at a Texas college/university/technical school.
The scholarship application deadline was 4/15/18.
On Thursday, May 9, The MHS Pioneers will be presenting on their two ongoing projects at the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library, 410 Post Hill Street.
The program will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the students will speak about the Dark Skies Initiative and the Rainwater Harvesting Project. The Pioneers is a group of students who are learning to be leaders in their school and leaders in their community.

Enrollment for the 2018 Summer Program is underway for Kingdom Kids, River of Life’s Mom’s Day Out program. Kingdom Kids mission is to provide a loving, Christ-centered environment where children are nurtured and mother’s needs are met. Summer activities for children ages 3 months to 5th grade include age appropriate Bible stories, music time, crafts, baking, and recreation time.
This summer we will be offering (2) three week sessions for ages 3 months – 5th grade.
