Mason High School had a record-breaking 5 participants and 6 artworks advance to the state VASE competition this year.
Participants included: Jill von Donop, Caroline Lemke, Anthony Martinez, K.O. Tedder, and Tiani Tovar. Out of an original 35,000 pieces, 2,321 were state qualifiers.
Tiani Tovar had one out of 1,290 pieces that received a medal at the state competition.

This summer in the Mason ISD cafeteria. ALL children 18 yrs and younger are welcome and encouraged to come eat Breakfast and Lunch.
Breakfast will be served from 7:15 until 8 a.m., Monday thru Thursday. Lunch from 11 a.m. until noon, Monday thru Thursday. The child does not have to be enrolled in the Mason schools to come eat.
The Punchers became Area Champs last Saturday after beating Port Aransas in a baseball marathon.
The team played a 2 of 3 game series vs. Port A. In the first game, it was a back and forth affair as the game lasted 4 hours going into 5 extra innings. In the end, the Punchers came out on top 8-7 in the bottom of the 12th scoring on a pass ball.
In game 2, it was yet another back and forth affair.
The Mason Jr Punchers took 4th place honors last Monday at the Brady Bulldog Open. Leading the way for the Punchers was Travis Parker, Ivan Wofford, Derick Ontiveroz, Marques Harding and Cason Jacoby.
The Jr Cowgirls had a marvelous day taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd spots at the Bulldog Open. The 1st place team was made of; Annabelle Herrington, Madalynn Del Toro; Madalynn also placed third for the overall individual, Jacie Smedley, Madison Martinez and Isela Rodriguez.

The Mason High School UIL Academics team had several results at the 2018 State Academic Meet on Friday, May 4th. Sloan Townsend medalled three times on the day to lead the team.
Sloan Townsend, a junior, had already performed the impressive feat of advancing to State in three writing events. She topped that achievement by managing to place at State in all three events.
Cowgirls Softball season came to an end on Saturday. The Cowgirls were out matched by a very strong Petrolia team.
The Cowgirls had a great season. They won district for the first time in school history with a record of 10-0. They will return 7 of their 9 starters next year.
The patient and practical gardener waters his garden incessantly, quenching the undying thirst of prosperity. He plants various seeds after carefully noting the instructions for proper care. He prunes the abrupt and invasive weeds and shrubbery so as not to limit the full capacity of success within his prized flowers.
The Board of Trustees of MISD met for their regular meeting on April 23, 2018 at the School Administration Office. Board President Jeff Durst called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm with members Tommy Bierschwale, Jim Bob Smith, Julio Ramon, Tina Cantu-Navarro, Treg Hudson and Kathryn Martin in attendance.
