The Mason High School UIL Academics Team won the 2A Region IV Championship on Saturday, April 13th, in Corpus Christi. This was the Mason’s fourth year in a row to win the contest. In addition, 13 of Mason’s students advanced to compete at the UIL State Tournament later this spring.
The Current Events team, comprised of seniors Zachary Norman and Pablo Lopez and sophomores James Potts and Colby Brown, placed 1st overall in the contest.
It was a windy few days in Corpus Christi during the Region IV tennis tournament last week, but the Punchers and Cowgirls prevailed to win four of the five divisions and will represent Region IV in 14 of the 16 available spots at the State tennis tournament in College Station on May 16-17.
The Mason Punchers Track Team competed at the Area meet this past week in Charlotte, Texas. These young men represented Mason very well. Here are the results: Mason Punchers Team Champions with 118 points.

Mason Sweeps District 27 2A Tennis

On Monday, April 1st Mason hosted the district 27 2A tennis tournament that included Center Point, Junction, San Saba and Mason. Mason earned 1st and 2nd in every varsity division qualifying all 16 entries to the Regional Tournament.

Mason earned 1st and 2nd in every varsity division qualifying all 16 entries to the Regional Tournament. In the Junior Varsity draw Mason won 1st in Mixed Doubles, 1st and 2nd in Girls Doubles, 1st in Girls Singles and 1st in Boys Singles.
Our Mason Junior High Cowgirl Track & Field team competed in the District 27 AA Track Meet on Tuesday, April 4, in Center Point. Our 7th grade girls team won the District track meet, and our 8th grade girls team came in a close 2nd behind Harper. We had some outstanding times clocked in our 7th and 8th grade girls mile relays.

The Mason Youth Baseball & Softball Association kicked off the 2019 Season with Opening Day held on Saturday, March 23rd. We would like to thank all of those involved in making Opening Day a success!
