Enrollment for the 2019 Summer Program is underway for Kingdom Kids, River of Life’s Mom’s Day Out program. Kingdom Kids mission is to provide a loving, Christ-centered environment where children are nurtured and the mother’s needs are met. Summer activities for children ages 3 months to 5th grade include age appropriate Bible stories, music time, crafts, baking, and recreation time.
This summer we will be offering (2) three week sessions for ages 3 months – 5th grade.
Fifth & sixth graders (110) from Mason ISD attended the Farm & Ranch Safety Day sponsored by the Mason County Soil & Water Conservation District on May 16th at the Community Building.
Students learned a variety of safety topics including tractor & lawn mower safety, seatbelt safety, firearm safety, snake safety, electrical safety, ATV & UTV safety, animal safety, equipment & fire procedures from Mason & Loyal Valley Fire Departments.
The Mason tennis program won its 97th, 98th, 99th and 100th individual state championship titles Friday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the Texas A&M campus in College Station. Coincidentally, of the 100 titles Mason has won, 100 different players have won them, while a staggering 80 other players have gone to the state tournament and not won a title.
On May 15th, the Mason County Republican Women honored their scholarship recipients for this year. Three senior students will each receive a $1,000.00 scholarship. The three students are John Benefield, Kate Gillespie and Raegan Glentz. Every year the students applying for these funds submit an Application, as well as, a typed Essay.
These essays are based on a question that the MCRW’s Scholarship Committee presents to them on a timely topic.

Our Mason Cowgirls resprested Mason extremely well at the State Track & Field Meet on Saturday, May 11.
We had two athletes who competed at the state meet, freshman Tristin Keller in the pole vault and sophomore Ana Segura in the 1600m run.
Tristin Keller took 5th place in the pole vault with a vault of 10’6”.
The Mason Punchers Track Team participated in the State Track Meet this past weekend in Austin, Texas. They placed 11th as a team with 22 points and represented Mason well on and off the track.

These young men performed extremely well, and we are very proud of how they represented Mason.
On May 3-4, nine students from the Mason High School Academic Team competed at the 2019 State Academic Meet, and eight of those nine brought home medals.
Brooke Wheelock, a senior, led the way by winning a State Championship in Feature Writing. She wasn’t the only journalism competitor to have a successful day.

The Board of Trustees of MISD met for their regular meeting on April 23, 2019 at the MISD Administration Office. Board President Jeff Durst called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm with members Jim Bob Smith, Julio Ramon, Tina Cantu-Navarro, Ryan Jordan, Treg Hudson and Kathryn Martin in attendance.
