This year we will host a Fundamental basketball camp for 3rd through 9th grade girls & boys. The Fundamental camp will be July 29--August 1 & will be from 9am to noon. The cost for the Fundamental will be $50 per camper. Checks for the Fundamental Camp should be made out to Jeff Guice.
From June 14th-17th, thirteen Mason students and five adults took a trip along with a group of students from Brady to visit our nation’s capitol of Washington, D.C. While on the trip, the students visited several places such as the National Cathedral, Ford’s Theatre, National Archives, the Capitol Building, Holocaust Memorial Museum, Mt.
Last week, children heard the classic tale of “the Tortoise and the Hare.” Following the story, kids played a racing game pitting the tortoise and hare against each other once again, and then they created their own finger puppets to retell the story at home. Tuesday, July 16 - Thursday, July 18th 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. (3rd - 5th Grade) 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (6th - 9th Grade) Bring cleats, water bottle, and $25 to HS gym Tuesday morning to register. The football camp will be held on the band field south of the tennis courts / ag shop. Camp will start at 9am for 3rd-5th grade and 10:30 for 6th-9th grade.
The Board of Trustees of MISD met for their regular meeting on June 24, 2019 at the MISD Administration Office. Board President Jeff Durst called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm with members Jim Bob Smith, Cole Farmer, Tina Cantu-Navarro, Ryan Jordan, Mary Donaldson and Kathryn Martin in attendance.
Kaleigh Walker, agriscience and dual credit science educator at Mason High School recently attended an 8-day professional development institute at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX to teach the Principles of Agricultural Science – Animal Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE) course in Walker’s program. Mason High School held the annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 20th in the auditorium. High School Principal Chris Habecker opened the evening with the following words, “Tonight it is my honor to welcome you to the Scholarship Awards Ceremony honoring the Mason High School class of 2019. To the organizations and individuals who make the scholarship opportunities available, the students, parents, teachers, and community are forever grateful.
All JH & HS athletes. Boys and Girls 6pm-7pm Monday -July 1st, Tuesday - July 2nd Monday-July 8th, Thursday - July 11th, Friday - July 12th. Monday - July 15th through Thursday - July 18th Wednesday - July 24th through Friday - July 26th. Monday - July 29th through Thursday - August 1st.
The Mason Summer Swing Tournament hosted by the Mason Tennis Association brought in almost 100 junior tennis players on June 14th and 15th to Mason. Junior players ranged from 7 years old to 18. The Mason Tennis Association awarded medals to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers. This tournament provides an opportunity for many youth players to play in their first tennis tournament.
The Texas Girls Coaches Association selects All-State teams in softball in conferences 1A through 6A. Athletes may be any grade from 9-12. Athletes are nominated by member coaches and selected by the TGCA All-State Committee at their annual meeting during the UIL State Softball Tournament. The head varsity coach of the team must be a member of TGCA in good standing before November 1st of each membership year in order to nominate athletes or have athletes eligible to receive honors.
