Mason's much-hyped meeting with the Wall Hawks last Thursday saw the Punchers come up short against a tremendously talented and skilled team. Wall controlled the game for almost the entire evening. Only minutes into the first quarter, the Hawks scored, then added the conversion to lead 8-0. Only minutes of play later, Wall scored on a long run, and added the PAT to put the score at 15-0.
The Board of Trustees of MISD met for their regular meeting on August 26, 2019 at the MISD Administration Office. Board President Jeff Durst called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm with members Jim Bob Smith, Cole Farmer, Tina Cantu-Navarro, Ryan Jordan, Mary Donaldson and Kathryn Martin in attendance.
Mason High School was honored again on Thursday night with a Lone Star Cup Championship presented by the UIL and Farm Bureau. This is the second year for us to receive this honor. It is a culmination of all UIL activities based on a point system and very difficult to achieve.
The JV football team traveled to Wall last week to take on the Hawks. Things started off slow for the Punchers as Wall scored first. After a Puncher turn over in the red zone, Wall scored again making the halftime score 14-0. Mason did score once in the 3rd Quarter pulling within one score. However, in the 4th, Wall scored again and put it out of reach for the Punchers.
There will be a Band Booster Meeting on Monday, September 9th at 6:00 p.m. at the high school. Regular monthly meeting - first on the agenda is coronation. Anyone interested in helping with the 2019 Coronation please attend.
We are all excited about the upcoming football season; and, especially the Mason versus Wall game that will be televised from here on Thursday, the 29th of August. The City and the School officials have made a few adjustments to the parking for this game. Enrollment for the 2019-2020 schoolyear is underway for Kingdom Kids, River of Life’s Mom’s Day Out program. Kingdom Kids mission is to provide a loving, Christ-centered environment where children are nurtured and the mother’s needs are met.
