Mason ISD is off to a great start to the 2020-21 school year! Students are getting back into their normal routines and learning continues to be our focus. It has been such a joy to see the smiles in the eyes of our students as they walk the halls again at the elementary, junior high, and high school campuses.
We knew going into this school year that we would have challenges that we have never had before.

On Tuesday, the squads will head east to attend the annual San Saba Invitational cross country meet held at San Saba River Golf Course.

There are many things that have changed in the last six months due to Covid-19, and those changes will affect the concession stand that the Mason Band Boosters run on Friday nights at home football games. We will still be offering our Puncher fans several yummy options, but we have decided that it is in the best interest of everyone if we are not cooking food in the concession stand this year.

Parents,
Mason ISD is hard at work looking at the safety measures we can take to protect our students and staff this year. We have gone to great lengths to make changes to our normal routine and we wanted to get this information to you and your children prior to the start of the year.
Attention to all parents of junior high football players, junior high football equipment pick-up will be Wednesday, August 12th from 6-7 p.m. at the junior high gym.
At that time your child will pick-up the necessary equipment for the beginning of the football season. There will be coaches available to help properly size your child with equipment.
Also, your child needs to have our athletic policy signed and returned before they are able to participate in any sports for our program.
Desaree Bowie, a member of the Mason FFA Chapter, was recently recognized during the Virtual State Convention for receiving her FFA Lone Star Degree. The Lone Star Degree is awarded to members meeting a series of requirements through FFA participation and leadership. Three years of record books are evaluated at the local, area, and state level for approval.
Jarrett Worrell of Mason recently attended the Jr National Hereford Expo in Kansas City, Missouri. Jarrett had a really good week.
He was chosen as the Grand Champion Showman in the Junior Division. he competed against 120 other contestants for this honor. Jarrett was also awarded the Prospect Award. This award is chosen by a panel of judges that evaluated an application and written essay.
Mason Community Kitchen’s frozen meals will be available to families with children on request at the office of St. Joseph Catholic Church during regular hours, Wednesday through Friday, 9 A.M. till 5 P.M., until the school lunch program resumes on August 18. The meals will include beef with macaroni and cheese (beef goulash), Santa Fe soup with beef, beans, tomatoes and taco seasoning, and lasagna soup with pizza sausage, penne pasta, spinach and tomato sauce.
