7th vs. Winters
The 7th grade Punchers lost a tough one to end the season to Winters. Winters got rolling quick and we were never able to get ahead. An interception late in the 4th quarter sealed the deal as Winters marched down to make it 28-14. Scoring for the Punchers were Hayden Harding with a touchdown and 2 point conversion and Derek Ontiveroz with a touchdown as well.

Mason ISD is currently accepting nominations for the Gifted and Talented Program. Nominations will be accepted until 3:30 p.m. on Monday, November 21st. If you would like to nominate your child for the screening/testing process of the Gifted and Talented Program, please go to the Mason Elementary/Junior High Office for the necessary paperwork.
The Cowgirls left Friday afternoon to compete at the 2017 State Cross Country Championships held Saturday at 1:30 in Round Rock at Old Settler’s Park. The girls and I would like to thank all of you who came to cheer them on!
Despite a couple of injuries, the Cowgirls were still able to pull off a 10th place finish as a team and medal the school record holder, Angelica Ramirez, who placed 8th in the state!
The Lady Eagle 7th and 8th grade girls traveled to Comfort for their first basketball game of the season Monday evening. The Lady Eagle 7th graders got off to a fast start, jumping out to a quick lead. Comfort quickly closed the gap and took the lead themselves. Comfort then went on to outscore the Lady Eagles 18-0 over the next two quarters.
The game last Friday between the Mason Punchers and the Sabinal Yellowjackets started with a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown by Haddon Hudson. It was an omen for the rest of the rather lopsided game.
After Fernando Torres added the PAT, the clock still had 11:58 left in the first quarter of play and a score of 7-0.

More than 200 students from around the state came to Mason this past Saturday to hone their skills in Livestock Judging. The competition was sponsored by the Mason County AgriLife Extension Office, Micah Walker, Agent for Ag and Natural Resources and Jamie Osbourne, Agent for Ag and Natural Resources in Llano County.
The JV White team played their final game of the season last week against the Sabinal Yellowjackets.
The Punchers played their most complete game to date and took a 46-0 victory.
Being able to pass the ball effectively was something that eluded the Punchers for much of this season but the quarterbacks did a successful job of getting the receivers the ball.

The JV Purple took the field for the last time this season in Wall.
The Punchers fought hard the entire behind most of the first half the Punchers were able to rally and come away with the win, defeating the Wall Hawks 18-12.
The win makes the JV Purple record 9-1 for the season.
