The coronavirus pandemic has laid much of the American economy on its back — but a bright spot made the disaster less crippling than it might have been. That is the Paycheck Protection Program, which funneled money to workers through small businesses. More than five million small businesses took the PPP loans, representing 50 million jobs, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told Congress in June.
Ballots Have Been Mailed to Eligible Voters
WASHINGTON, Nov. 9, 2020 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has mailed ballots for the Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee elections to eligible farmers and ranchers across the country. To be counted, ballots must be returned to the local FSA county office or postmarked by December 7. “FSA has over 7,000 county committee members nationwide who serve their communities by providing input on our programs at the local level,” said FSA Administrator Richard Fordyce.

Irrigation water is the lifeblood for Rio Grande Valley farmers and ranchers, and delays in water delivery by Mexico under terms of an international treaty are serious, according to the president of Mason County Farm Bureau. Texas Gov. The City staff is busy working to keep up with the several projects and deadlines that are underway. The new landfill is nearing completion with the new scale house being built out, the signage and fencing contracted out and a few more specific chores to complete with the intent of calling for a final inspection in a few weeks.
