In May 2015, Hill Country Memorial began offering a new service for medical withdrawal stabilization called "One-Eighty™". The service is for individuals who are dependent on prescription medicines, alcohol and illegal substances and ready to take a 180° turn toward sobriety. At HCM, One-Eighty participants are treated on a medical floor where the symptoms of withdrawal are managed by nurses and medical director Dr.
On March 20, 2015 at approximately 2:18 pm, Blanco County 911 was transfered a call in reference to a reckless driver traveling south on US Highway 281 towards Johnson City from the Burnet County line. Deputy Marty Corcoran and Texas DPS Trooper Bryan Lietz responded to the call. Trooper Lietz and Deputy Corcoran observed the vehicle traveling at a very high rate of speed as it passed the Pedernales Electric Cooperative training center.
Every year the Blanco Pioneers Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) hosts an essay contest for Blanco County fourth and seventh graders. This year's winner was Townes Reed Curbow, the fourth grade son of Christopher and Courtney Curbow of Blanco. On March 21, Townes was presented with a check in the amount of one hundred dollars for his winning essay entitled, "The Runaway Scrape."

The 2015 Mason County Livestock Show will be held on January 8th-10th. The exhibitors will be showing various species including cattle, sheep, goats, and swine.
