Please join us this Sunday, October 25th for a drive-thru hamburger lunch on the square benefiting Steady Steps Children’s Weekday Ministry. We’ll be set up on the west side of the courthouse from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. You’ll receive a delicious hamburger, chips, drink, and dessert, all packaged up in a convenient to-go container.
We have known for a while now that eventually we would have to make some changes at the Recycle Center. The recycle market has been bad for a few years and continues to decline. Unfortunately many of the items that we take in at the Recycle Center have no market value.
Last Friday I, along with several other local citizens, attended a town hall gathering with our retiring Congressional Representative Mike Conaway. This was a part of a tour of the District for Mike to say a heartfelt “thank you” for the support and involvement of our local citizens in listening and recommending policy directions in Washington, DC that impact our west Texas region.
The Legendary Chuck Wagon Gang will be returning to the Heart of Texas Events Center in Brady, Texas, for an afternoon Gospel concert on Sunday, November 1. The performance will be at 3:00 PM and admission is $15.00 per person. To book a church group for reserved seating (minimum of ten) call (325) 597-1895. This appearance marks the 85th year of performances since the original Chuck Wagon Gang was formed in Lubbock, Texas, by founding member D.P.
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Representative K. Michael Conaway (R-Texas) will hold a town hall in Mason on Friday, October 16th from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Eckert Civic Center. This will be the final town hall in Mason hosted by Representative Conaway as the Member of Congress for the 11th District of Texas. We respectfully encourage guests to wear face coverings and practice social distancing for the duration of the event.
We have now started Early Voting in Texas and it is mid-October with fall weather alternating with a stubborn summer that does not want to let go. I hope that you have developed your own plan on voting, and whether you have already received your mail-in ballot, plan to go to the Courthouse for Early Voting, choose curb-side voting on the south side of the Courthouse or plan to wait for Election Day on November 3 please take a few minutes to let your individual voice be heard in this election.

Dear Members, Mason Community, and Friends, The past year has felt like a constant battering of unprecedented unknowns. I hope to assure you, while also announcing that I am stepping down as the Executive Director in December of 2020. Major changes have opened up new doors for business opportunities in Mason, reminded us again how grateful we are to live in a small town, and allowed the opportunity to take a step back and ask what we hope to achieve in the future.
The Mason County Republican Party and Republican Women will be hosting a Meet the Candidate and Get Out The Vote Rally on Tuesday October 13, 2020 at River of Life Gym 7:00 PM. Social distancing will be observed. Various candidates will be present, including Lani Popp, Republican nominee for State Board of Education.
The Mason ISD Education Foundation will host their 5th Annual Cattle Roundup on Monday, October 26 at noon at Jordan Cattle Auction in Mason. Proceeds from the fundraiser help directly fund creative and innovative teacher grants in our award-winning Mason schools, positively impacting the education of students from Pre-K through 12th grade and enriching the District’s mission of excellence in education.
