The Legendary Chuck Wagon Gang will be returning to the Heart of Texas Events Center in Brady, Texas, for an afternoon Gospel concert on Sunday, February 12. The performance will be at 3:00 PM and admission is $10.00 per person. To book a church group for reserved seating (minimum of ten) call (325) 597-1895. This appearance marks the 76th year of performances since the original Chuck Wagon Gang was formed in Lubbock, Texas, by founding member D.P.
 FORT WORTH, TEXAS – February 2, 2017 – Stran Stultz, a FFA member from Mason, exhibited the Champion Fine Wool in the Junior Wether Lamb Show at the 2017 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on January 29. The 2017 Show is hosting junior exhibitors from 238 counties across Texas competing for awards and $161,830 in premiums. Jarrett Worrell, Mason County 4H member recently exhibited two Champions at the 121st Fort Worth Livestock Show. Jarrett, son of James and Shannon Worrell exhibited the Grand Champion Horned Hereford Female named Geisha and the Grand Champion Cow Calf pair named Sequoia and Mr. Peadbody. The Fort Worth Livestock Show is proud to be identified as the most prestigious cattle show in the state.
The Afterschool Program of the First Baptist Church is off to a great start. We have three amazing ladies leading our program Monday through Friday 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. for children in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. In order to better accommodate the community’s needs, we have started offering 3 day a week care in addition to the 5 day a week program. Our rates are $10 per day.

A record number of teams registered this year for the District 7 Food Challenge competition held on January 25 in San Angelo, TX. In all there were 95 teams who competed. In two separate heats, teams were vying for the coveted final championship round. In the Food Challenge Competition, teams are given 40 minutes to prepare mystery ingredients into a tasty dish, tabulate the nutritional value per serving, use all safety precautions during the cooking preparation, plate the dish, and clean up.
