Alma (Dolly) Waldine Maples Brown, 85, was born in Glidden, on Dec. 27, 1932.  She passed on June 10, 2018. As a child she was baptized in the Glidden Baptist Church.  She graduated from Columbus High School in May 1951. She married the love of her life, Vernon Lee Brown, on Nov.
Matthew Franklin Stephenson of San Antonio, passed away June 27, 2018, at the age of 46. Matthew never allowed his weak, physical body stop him from graduating from the University of Texas, being a real estate investor, restaurant manager, farmer and enjoying sailing his catamaran. He fought a debilitating lung disease for many years. David Holden 37, of Llano, entered into Heaven on Friday, July 13, 2018. He was born in Waco on Oct. 25, 1980 to Gary Holden and Judith Surita. He is survived by his parents; son, Corbyn; daughters, Mya and Chariti; his brother, Stephen Holden and his wife Coral Gonzalez; nephews, Stephen Jr.
Elmon Bill Stewart passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Llano, Texas at the age of 77. He was born on October 12, 1940, in Llano at the county’s first hospital, then located on the Courthouse Square, to David and Willie Lee (Talley) Stewart. Bill grew up in Llano, graduating high school in 1959.
Anabel Kelley Burnes, age 68, of Kingsland, passed away at her home on June 28, 2018 in the early morning hours surrounded by her family. Anabel was born on March 3, 1950, in Austin. Anabel was raised in Austin by her mother Katherine Kelley and late father Leslie “Bart” Kelley. Anabel married the love of her life Ronal Burnes in 1969.
Nell (Myers) Hoffmann passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the age of 82. She was born Oct. 27, 1935 in Valley Spring Texas to Ella (Walton) and Paul Myers. She married James Hoffmann Aug. 14, 1951 in Llano. Nell loved to garden, raise chickens and most especially loved cattle ranching.
Wardell Halliburton passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 in Bluffton, at the age of 89. He was born Feb. 11, 1929 in San Saba County, to Robert A. Halliburton and Myrtle (Dean). Wardell was a resident of Llano for 24 years since coming from Granite, Oklahoma. He was a Gospel Preacher for the Church of Christ for 61 years, and was able to fix anything. Wardell is preceded in death by his parents, Robert A.
Tammye Lew Shipp, 59 of Lometa, died Wednesday June 20, 2018 at her home. She was born March 6, 1959 in San Saba, to Lewis C. Waldon and Betty J. (McLeod) Waldon. Tammye grew up in Pontotoc and graduated from Mason High School. She later earned her nursing degree from Howard College in Brownwood.
Una Mae Hopson passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 in Round Rock, at the age of 78. She was born April 4, 1940 in Llano, to Vance Walton and Eva (Key). Una Mae was a lifetime resident of Llano and left a lasting impression on the many lives she touched. She was a member of the Pittsburg Avenue Baptist Church, where she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, as well as Presbyterian Church.
Shirley Joann Bender, 81, of Kingsland, passed away on May 28, 2018. She was born to Lafayette and Novella (Christopher) Melton on Dec. 8, 1936 in Byers, Texas. Shirley had many jobs during her lifetime, but considered being a serviceman’s wife was what she really enjoyed. She also enjoyed raising her family.
