Our sweet mother Patricia Ann Rogers fell asleep in death on Saturday, June 22, 2019.  Mom was born in Devine, Texas on August 30, 1931 to William Travis and Myrtie (Murphy) Mangum. Her family moved to Llano around 1949, where she first met George. 60 days and one promissory note later he became her husband.
Wilda M. Haggerton passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 in Marble Falls, Texas at the age of 79. She was born in Nueces County, to Monroe Ace Bowen and Veramae (Rutherford). Wilda was a lifetime resident of Llano, she enjoyed reading, cooking and one of her most favorite past times was driving around in the Hill Country. She is preceded by her parents, Monroe Ace Bowen and Veramae (Rutherford), and brother, Willie Jewel Bowen. Wilda is survived by her son, John E.
Douglas Carl Herridge age 74 of Meridian, TX, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 in Waco, TX.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Board Branch Cemetery in Llano, TX.  Robert Herridge will officiate.  Douglas was born on December 18, 1934 in Llano, TX to William Alf “Bud” Herridge and Locia Elizabeth Gray.  He spent 20 years in the service, the first 4 years in the United States Navy and then 16 years in the United States Airforce. Charles Kirkland, 78, of Young America, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at his residence. Born on July 23, 1940, in South Bay, Florida. He was the son of the late C. A. Kirkland and Evelyn Fisher. On May 23, 1073, he married Brenda Petit in Fort Worth, Texas. Charles was self employed as a heating and air conditioning technician.
Veragene “Gene” Immel Becker of Llano, Texas passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at the age of 92. She was born to Ollie (Walker) and Edgar Immel November 5, 1926 in Crews, Texas. She liked to sew, read, and do crafts, and loved cats! Gene was a member of Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church. Melvin Gerald (Jerry) Rider was born on May 6, 1932 in Dayton, KY. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He met Ruth Jean Peace a few years later, and they married on July 19, 1957. They went on to have two daughters, Linda and Patricia. Jerry and Ruth were very serious about their breakfasts at Cracker Barrel and would arrive before the restaurant opened so they could be sure to be seated at “their” table.
Peggy Jordan entered her heavenly home and reunited with her loved ones on May 2, 2019. She peacefully passed away with family by her side after her battle with vascular dementia. Peggy was born on February 5, 1935 to Cecil and Ruby Chew at Bode Peak, Mason County in a rugged old three room home where they lived.
Doc was born August 11, 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He passed away May 3, 2019, at home, after a long fight with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Isabel Currie. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1963, after completing his undergraduate studies at Rutgers and Colorado State University.
Curtis Alvin Chapman, age 83, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife, daughter and granddaughter on May 2, 2019, in Llano, Texas.  He was born on Oct. 24, 1935, in Eden, Texas. At the age of 19, he became a United States Marine and proudly served for eight years before being honorably discharged in 1962.
